I Don't Want to Sleep Alone

"Working from a sombre palette and with little to no dialogue, Tsai crafts a dazed fantasy about companionship and its power to revivify."

Director : Ming-liang Tsai

Starring :  Kang-sheng Lee
Shiang-chyi Chen

Rawang, an immigrant from Bangladesh living in awful conditions, takes pity on a Chinese man, Hsiao-kang, who is beaten up and left in the street. Rawang lovingly nurses him on a mattress he found. When he is almost healed, Hsiao-kang meets the waitress Chyi. His love for Rawang is put to the test.

This is a screening from the Taiwan Film Festival.

The initial idea for the Taiwan Film Festival Edinburgh was developed in 2019: the Festival was a response to the global surge in interest in Taiwanese cinematography over the last decade and introducing some of the lesser-known Taiwanese cinematography to wider audiences.
