Streaming AFS @ Home
For the first time this season we are providing a streaming service for selected films to allow our users to watch the same film at home if they can't or prefer not to come to the Ayr Town Hall - and good news - FREE
We'll be using FilmBank Media's Virtual Screening Room (VSR) for five films:
Judy - 9th September
Viceroy's House - 16th September
The Wound - 30th September
Pain and Glory - 14th October
Socrates - 9th December
Look out for the -- Live Streaming -- logo on the Programme and Film detail pages.
Good news - Its Free - If you buy a season ticket, the streaming option is bundled in - all you have to do is register for the films you want - details of how to do that will follow shortly.
If you don't want to buy a Season ticket - there will be plenty of options to get a free "virtual ticket" for the individual films on our Facebook page - so get yourself over there, follow us and look out for the Free Offers and competitions.
...plus this news just in, Africa in Motion online
The AiM Film Festival will again be virtual this year. AFS will be partnering with the good folks at AiM to bring you some streaming films from the festival in October. Details are still being finalised but these films will be available to AFS fans as a special deal and they will run parallel to our main in-theatre programme. We'll give more information when the deal is done.
..and watch this space...
We hope to be adding to that list later in 2021 - FOKUS and Alliance Francais - whom we partner with may stream their films as they did last year and we may add extra titles from other home streaming services - although may be dependent on additional funding!
Some notes on how Filmbank Virtual Screen Room works
The way FilmBank's VSR works is that the film will stream at 19:30 on the Thursday evening - so you will be able to "watch along" with everyone at the Town Hall and we hope you will join in after with the discussion on the AFS Facebook page where you can leave your scores and comments.
We'll post more instruction nearer the time as well as emailing to our eBulletin subscribers.
